Hi, I’m Gareth and I'm passionate about developing ‘the all round musician’.
I’ve spent the past 40 years as a professional musician. Time and again I’ve met people who have expressed a wish to be part of a musical community in which they can learn and share their music, as performers, composers, arrangers, as students of harmony etc.
Maestros is an enactment of a vision to provide exactly this kind of community. A supportive, positive forum in which people can learn, share their musical progress, and be part of a musical circle. How do I sign up to Maestros?
You can join Maestros on the main YouTube site and app. Just look for the Join button on the Music Matters channel or underneath any of our videos. Follow the prompts to enter your payment information and click Buy. You’ll see a welcome announcement once your transaction is complete.
How long do I have to sign up for?
Maestros is a subscription service. It is a recurring payment that is billed monthly. You can join and cancel at any time, you're not locked in for any particular period of length, so if you want to join just for a month, you can do. If you stay with us for longer you'll earn various loyalty badges showing your support.
How do I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership at any time. Once you cancel, you won’t be charged again. You’ll retain access to your current Maestro benefits until the end of your billing cycle. You can cancel your membership, view the details of your membership and the last day of your billing cycle by visiting youtube.com/paid_memberships
Can I change levels?
You can upgrade or downgrade levels at any time. If you're upgrading then you’ll immediately get access to the upgraded level upon purchase and you’ll only be charged the difference in price in levels, at an adjusted price for the days remaining in your then-current billing cycle. If you downgrade then you’ll get access to your original level until your next billing date. You’ll be charged the new lower price at your next billing date.
What level of ability do I need to join?
Maestros is not based on any particular musical level of achievement - everyone is welcome.
What if I’m not free on the date or at the time of the livestream?
All of the Maestro livestreams are recorded and are available to watch at any other time.
Can I be anonymous or do I have to participate in an active way?
You can join Maestros and watch all the content and livestreams while remaining completely anonymous should you wish, you do not have to participate in any way. Should you wish to participate you can type in a live chat with Gareth and the other members.
Can I submit anything I like?
Level three members have the opportunity to submit their work and receive feedback on it from Gareth. You can submit anything you like, compositions, recorded performances, theory questions and exercises or anything else music related that you would like to present and receive constructive feedback on.
Is this a group for pianists?
Maestros is available to all musicians, regardless of what instrument you play. This group is for anyone who wants to become a better musician or just enjoys learning more about music.
